Jack Everson grew up in Chillicothe. His father was a Materials Manager at Wearever on the city’s east end; his mother worked as a secretary for the State of Ohio County Commissioners Board in Columbus.

Jack attended Chillicothe’s public schools and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Physics.

After college, Jack began a career in manufacturing management working for domestic companies such as Campbell’s Soup Company, Owens Corning, Ball Manufacturing and Cargotec, an international company.

During his 32 year career, Jack amassed a diverse knowledge of process improvement and problem resolution systems starting with W. Edward Deming principles in the 1980’s leading up to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma philosophies. With innovative application of these principles into senior management positions, Jack became what is known in the industry as a “Change Agent” specializing in returning organizations to profitable performance.

During 2010, Jack founded Platinum Horizon Group LLC, a successful consultancy business specializing in lean organizational restructuring and leadership training. Concurrently, Jack began attending Chillicothe City Council and sub-committee meetings to assess application of business principles and Lean and Six Sigma methodologies in a government setting. Determining that with some alteration, common sense business approaches would add significant value to city management, he launched a campaign to run for Mayor of Chillicothe.

Successfully winning a primary race against a respected and qualified opponent, Jack won the general election against another well qualified opponent in November 2011 to become the first Republican Mayor of Chillicothe in 27 years.

Jack is married to Christine Everson, a realtor at Kear Realty in Chillicothe. Jack and Christine are the parents of four, and the grand-parents of nine.
