Shawnee Wetlands Preserve is a scenic 30-acre urban wetlands preserve located behind Shawnee Square shopping center.  A Nature Center and interpretive trail have been developed.  A footbridge will be constructed to connect the Goldie Gunlock Wetlands area with the Shawnee Wetlands Preserve.  The Parks & Recreation Department will soon offer wetland tours, guided nature walks, and outdoor educational programs for anyone interested in learning about wildlife and natural areas.  Call the Parks & Recreation office to schedule a tour at 740-772-5626.
